We want to further expand our much appreciated role as a broker and matchmaker between all the people and organizations involved in the development of innovative ICT solutions tailored to current societal needs.

During iMinds we offer you, as our partner, researcher or entrepreneur, the perfect opportunity to get in touch with other likeminded parties to start discussions on future applications and solutions.

Since iMinds was embedded in the large-scale Future Internet conference week last year, we want to measure up to that effort again this year and introduce you to the rich and curious world of IBBT’s research an entrepreneurship activities during our iMInds conference.

We hope to welcome you at the International Conference Center (ICC) in Ghent on Thursday October 13th 2011 for the 3rd edition of this networking conference. Our activities and instruments have expanded considerably over the last couple of years but we don’t want to stop at this and rest on our laurels. We will therefore happily show you what the future may look like and present you our strategic plan for the years to come. Our partner companies and spin-off companies will discover a number of promising new projects that will allow us to create a lasting and positive impact on the Flemish and European society through ICT innovation.

A couple of keynote speakers will inspire you to think along on how we can make our future society more pleasant, accessible and sustainable. Our brokerage sessions will offer you economic and societal results of our recent ICON projects (Interdisciplinary Cooperative Research) and we sure hope to hear from you which ideas you’re playing with for future research projects. We will help you along in forming a relevant and complementary consortium to develop those ideas into new products, services and companies.

Some of our activities are closer to market already, though. The VRT medialab will offer an overview of their activities and accomplishments over the last couple of years and some inspiring European and Flemish living lab projects will be presented in our “Test & Develop” break-out sessions. To ensure that all those results don’t get stuck and have actual impact on our lives, the sessions on entrepreneurship will offer an overview of potential instruments and forms of collaboration enabling the valorization of research results.

iMinds is open to anyone with an interest in the subject of ICT innovation is welcome to attend and focuses on researchers, entrepreneurs from large and small companies, venture capitalists, civil servants, politicians and creative individuals with different disciplinary backgrounds.
