De Baekeland beurzen steunen via IWT subsidies de onderzoeksthema's vanuit bedrijven die kunnen leiden tot een doctoraat in de universiteiten. IBBT wil de brug slaan tussen bedrijven en universitaire onderzoeksgroepen en brengt in dit ontmoetingsforum geïnteresseerden bij elkaar om kennis maken met dit instrument en in contact te treden met andere geïnteresseerden uit de industrie of de academische sector.
